Before you come

1. What happens if one of my team mates falls ill and cannot attend the state finals? 

If a team member cannot attend, you are eligible to make a maximum of 1 substitution. Please notify us as soon as possible with the new player’s details. 

2. Can I bring my own golf clubs and golf balls? 

For consistency and fairness, all players must use the putters and balls provided by Holey Moley. 

3. How many people need to be in my team? 

You must have no less and no more than 4 people in your team in order to be eligible to compete. 

4. How long will the state finals tournament run for? 

You and your team will complete 9 holes of golf, which lasts roughly 20 minutes. The first team will tee off at 7pm with the winners being announced at the completion of the last team, roughly 10:30pm. 

5. Will there be food and drinks? 

We have a super cool bar with amazing food and drinks available for you to purchase throughout the whole duration of the tournament! 

6. Can my family and friends come along to watch? 

Absolutely! Spectators are welcome to cheer you on and we encourage you to bring along your supporters provided they are +18 years old. Anyone under the age of 18 cannot attend. 

7. Is there a dress code? 

While there’s no strict dress code, we recommend wearing comfortable clothing and footwear suitable for mini golf. We’d also love to see you and your team rock a fun and quirky outfit that represents what you guys are all about! 

8. Not a NSW Resident and you happen to qualify for the national final? 

No stress! If your team qualifies as a finalist for the national finale and don’t live in NSW, we’ve got you covered! We’ll arrange your return flight and accommodation.

Official Rules of Play

1. Max putts per player is +6 Over Par for each hole 

2. Ball must be placed within the allocated starting line to tee off 

3. Only the caddy is allowed to move the ball once play is live 

4. If your ball cannot be hit with a putter head (e.g. stuck against an obstruction or wall) – officials will move it, one putter head length away from obstruction.

5. The ball is only allowed to be touched by an official or putter head – any interference even accidental is a 1 stroke penalty 

6. Ball must come to complete stop before next shot is taken

7. If your ball lands off the course. The caddy will place the ball back on the starting line of that hole, and play will be resumed with a 1+ penalty to the players existing score. 

8. All shots must be taken from the club head (No pool style shots), unless instructed otherwise from caddy.

10. Tie Breaker Rules – One person from each team will complete one additional hole chosen by a caddy, winner will be chosen by the lowest score. If that hole results in a tie the players continue across the course until a player has a lower score and is the winner.
